BLOOMING

Troyanda Ukrainian Dance Ensemble is proud to continue growing Tsvit, an established and thriving bridging program designed to help emerging young artists “bloom.” Meaning “bloom” in Ukrainian, Tsvit reflects the program’s mission: to nurture, strengthen, and elevate dedicated dancers while they remain actively involved with their home studios and communities.

Created for dancers ages 12–18, Tsvit provides advanced training and meaningful performance opportunities for youth eager to deepen their Ukrainian dance experience.

Participants rehearse Sunday afternoons in Winnipeg from September through April, focusing on Ukrainian dance, ballet, and character. Throughout the season, dancers represent the program at community events and the Manitoba Ukrainian Dance Festival, gaining valuable stage experience, discipline, and confidence.

Tsvit dancers benefit from mentorship and instruction from Troyanda’s artistic leadership, including Jenn and Paul Doroniuk, along with other highly trained faculty members. The program offers exposure to original choreography and select Troyanda repertoire, building strong technical foundations and artistry within a supportive, high-calibre environment.

Auditions are held each spring for the upcoming season. Applicants must be between 12 and 18 years of age with previous dance experience. While Ukrainian dance training is an asset, dancers with diverse backgrounds and transferable skills are encouraged to audition.

Tsvit continues to flourish, cultivating growth, connection, and the future of Ukrainian dance.

AIMS & OBJECTIVES

Dancers in Tsvit have the opportunity to learn and perform original choreographic works and Troyanda Ukrainian Dance Ensemble’s current and past repertoire. Learning the Ensemble’s repertoire is a unique and challenging opportunity and gives dancers an advantage to be ahead of the learning curve if they choose to audition for the ensemble in the future.
